About

Sabert

Sabert is a leading global manufacturer of innovative, high-quality and ready-to-use food packaging products and solutions – boasting more than 30 years of experience in the packaging and food service industry. Sabert designs, manufactures and distributes a wide spectrum of packaging for food distributors, restaurants and caterers, shops and national food chains.

In 2021, Sabert EU acquired KeCo Limited for whom CLF Boxwise had been the sole supplier of corrugated cardboard boxes. KeCo was predominantly a manufacturer of food packaging, specialising in the production of sandwich packs intended to better elongate the shelf life of the sandwich. CLF Boxwise’s longstanding relationship with KeCo, and product supply, continued through the transition to the Sabert Group and beyond.

CLF Boxwise have been working with our business for many years and have always been a pleasure to deal with. No matter what we’ve needed, their team has consistently been there to support us, often helping out with urgent or last-minute requests without hesitation. Their reliability, responsiveness and willingness to go the extra mile have made them an invaluable supplier to our operation.

The quality of the corrugated cardboard packaging they supply is excellent, and their flexibility has been invaluable as our business has evolved and grown. From the sales team through to warehousing and logistics, every member of the CLF Boxwise team is professional, knowledgeable and committed to providing exceptional customer service.

I genuinely can’t say enough good things about them. They are a pleasure to work with and an important supplier to our operation

The challenge

Maintaining and continuing the ongoing relationship with the client – as well as uninterrupted supply of packaging products and customer services – throughout the transition of company ownership, and beyond, would be a key priority. Responsiveness, reliability and flexibility from our team would be essential to avoid disruption.

More recently Sabert acquired Colpac, a similar company producing a similar product. This acquisition meant that there was to be a change in the delivery location. The new location has limited space to store packaging. This meant that we have been to date supplying packaging to the new site on a much more frequent basis to ensure that Sabert have packaging on demand. It has also meant a large increase in lines to accommodate Colpac’s historic demand. This has been well received, as prior to CLFBoxwise supplying packaging, Colpac were used to waiting a manufacturing lead-time for boxes, having them on demand is certainly a welcome improvement.

The solution

For KeCo, and following the acquisition, to Sabert, CLF Boxwise provide corrugated cardboard outer boxes for storing and transporting the client’s flat-packed food packaging. Many of these outer boxes also require design work to cover promotions and so we also provided digital print solutions. Digital print was selected as the most advantageous option (over other kinds of printing), because among other benefits, there is little to no setup cost when printing digitally. This made digital the ideal solution for this client, given that short-term runs and promotional packaging – with regularly changing artworks – is often required.

CLF Boxwise continue to work closely alongside Sabert to ongoingly and seamlessly meet their requirements and targets, providing very frequent or even daily deliveries as necessary. We look forward to enjoying continued growth within the group.
